We are a year round wilderness resort offering cabin rentals and all inclusive vacations. Fishpot Lake Resort is located 120 kms (72 miles) west of Quesnel, British Columbia. The resort is road accessible. The road from Quesnel is paved for the first 103 kms and the last 17 kms is a graded gravel road. The lake is 87 hectares in size.
Here at Fishpot Lake Resort we are pleased to cater to family vacations, fishermen, hikers, nature lovers, photographers, birders, campers and all those who love a wilderness experience. We pride ourselves on the high quality home style meals that we provide in our licensed, casual dining area either in the lodge or on the patio overlooking the lake.
We also cater to groups, re-unions and work crews. We have a covered outside barbecue/picnic area for guest use and an adventure playground.
As you can imagine with a name like "Fishpot Lake" trout is very popular. The Blackwater strain of trout are renowned for their aggressive behaviour when hooked on either flies, worms or lures. The most common size caught are 12"- 16" although 3 - 5 lb. fish have also been caught. Our lake is restocked the first week in June with 5000 trout annually. There are numerous other lakes, streams and rivers close by that provide angling to suit every fisherman.
for moose, deer and game birds is extremely productive in our area 5-13C. The moose and mule deer populations are at record highs and we also have a new population of white tail deer that has moved into the area.
There is a hiking trail from the resort to "Fishpot Volcano" approximately 10 kms round trip. Once there you can see the different colors of ash that the volcano produced. The forestry look out tower is located on "Fishpot Mountain"and is accessible by 4 wheel drive or by hiking or biking the 17 km round trip from the resort. Directions can be also given to guests to view the local Nazko waterfalls and also Indian Head Rock.
We have eight self contained lakeshore log cabins equipped with propane fridges, stoves and lights. There are wood heaters in the cabins and all kitchen utensils, dishes and pots and pans are provided along with fresh bed linens and towels. The shower house is attached to the lodge and contains two heated public showers. All wood for cabins is provided at no extra charge.
