St’át’imc Government Services (SGS) is an organization tasked with upholding the 2011 Relations Agreement with BC Hydro, but we are much more than that.
The SGS team is comprised of a majority of St’át’imc members from different communities across the territory. SGS administers programs to support St’át’imc priorities of effective resource management, upholding our culture, and developing economic opportunities for our people. We support education and training programs, environment monitoring and mitigation, and protection of our heritage.
The SGS team operates on the principles of a solutions-based learning organization. We are guided by the following values in development of programs, services, projects and activities: sustainability; reciprocal accountability; responsibilities/disciplines; partnerships and relationships; informed decision-making; innovation; factors for collective interests; cultural integrity; and effective investment of resources – time, people, money.
We work collaborative with St’át’imc communities (Sekw’el’was, N’Quatqua, Xaxl’ip, Xax’sta, T’it’qet, Skatin, Xwisten, Tskw’ay’laxw, Tsal’alh and Samaqhuam) to support their unique priorities.
