Shelter Restaurant first opened in 2003, quickly becoming a staple in Tofino’s dining scene. Built on a commitment to fresh, locally sourced ingredients and warm, West Coast hospitality, we created a space where locals and visitors could gather over thoughtfully prepared food and good company.

In 2022, after a fire at our original location, we embraced the opportunity to start anew and moved to a stunning waterfront home. This fresh chapter has allowed us to reimagine Shelter while staying true to our roots—welcoming guests with great food, quality ingredients, and a comfortable atmosphere.
Now, with views of the Tofino inlet, our new space features an open-concept design, natural wood finishes, and a patio where guests can take in the fresh ocean air. Whether you're here for a casual drink or a full meal, we’re proud to continue sharing the Shelter experience in a setting that reflects the beauty of the West Coast.
