Located in the West Kootenay region of south-east British Columbia, the Slocan Valley Co-operative Association provides a range of quality goods and services via our Castlegar Petroleum & Lubricant Department, our Grocery Convenience and Gas Bar departments in Nelson, Castlegar, Glenmerry, Slocan Park, and The Dam Restaurant & Bar serving over 5,000 active member-owners, we help fuel and feed communities. What you’ll do:
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Merchandise products according to standards.
- Maintain image standards throughout the interior, exterior, and pump island.
- Efficiently and effectively perform daily housekeeping duties to standards.
- Effectively communicate with your Team Leader and fellow Team Members.
- Demonstrate the positive day-to-day behaviours and actions that align with, and strengthen Slocan Valley Co-operative’s vision, mission, values, brand, and focus on safety.
Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Customer Service and:
- You are at least 19 years of age and have your Serving It Right certificate (required for liquor sales).
- You have prior customer service experience (ideally).
- You are openly available for shifts on days, evenings, and weekends.
- You are proficient with basic math skills, handling money, and operating technical equipment, specifically computers and cash registers.
- You have the ability to handle multiple demands at once in a high-paced environment while still providing exceptional customer service.
- You have the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- You have the ability to regularly and independently lift up to 50 pounds.
- You’re honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do, and fully willing to learn new skills.
- You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
What we offer:
The pay range for this position begins at $18.43 with progressive increases.
A short-term incentive program and a comprehensive benefits package, including an employer-contributed pension plan for those who qualify.
