Shifts: MONDAY to FRIDAY - 6AM to 2:30PM
$20 - $22 per hour (Based on experience)
Shift Premium - $2/hour for afternoon shift only
Top-Up for 40 hours for Weekend Shift (36-hour workweek but you get paid for 40)
Position Overview: The Industrial Machine Assembler is responsible for assembling sub-assemblies and main assemblies with quality workmanship.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Apply thread sealant and Loctite to threaded fittings and pipe;
- Follow proper detailing procedure/work instructions;
- Proper use of the sandblaster;
- Drill and tap holes;
- Read a tape measure to the closest 1/16”;
- Fill out applicable check sheets;
- Ensure quality of work by showing an eye for detail;
- Clock in and out of work orders and report completed work to Foreman;
- Ensure materials are properly tracked and allocated to each job for costing purposes;
- Maintain a safe work environment within the department and on each job;
- Identify areas for improvement and the use of non-conformance reports;
- Know and understand workplace health and safety rights and responsibilities;
- Follow safe work procedures and act safely in the workplace at all times;
- Use the protective clothing, devices, and equipment required for the job;
- Complete all applicable quality records;
- Perform work by CEC-documented policies and procedures;
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Education: Grade 12 education or equivalent experience.
Requirements
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear;
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds;
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists;
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form;
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
- Ability to handle conflict;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
