As the Hospitality Manager, you are responsible for the well-being of our residents through the delivery of home-cooked meals, as well as supervision for the housekeeping, janitor and food services team.
Responsibilities
- Recruitment of new team members as needed, including interviews - Housekeeping, Dining and Janitor Teams
- Provides training, coaching, mentoring
- Conducts performance evaluations
- Promotes team building and engagement
- Preparation of schedules
- Oversees the dining and hospitality services teams
- Provides efficient and effective communication to culinary and hospitality teams
- Order and receive food & beverage services items, and necessary chemicals for the site
- Maintains provincial compliance standards to ensure successful inspections
- Conducts Quality Assurance audits in hospitality and food services
- Assure proper storage of food in designated areas following all food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Completes and maintains all required logs
- Ensure appropriate maintenance and sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils. Ensure team leaves workstations and kitchen thoroughly cleaned prior to leaving area. Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service to comply with all sanitation and safety requirements
- Ensure the environment is safe and sanitary for staff and residents; makes efforts to reduce safety hazards, accidents, and injuries where possible
- Interact with residents to resolve inquiries in a friendly, service-oriented manner
- Demonstrate complete understanding of current menu
- Holds monthly Culinary meetings with residents and provides minutes
- Complete Purchase journals, inventory and monitor proper deliveries of product and supplies
- Meets with new residents to introduce the culinary and hospitality amenities and services.
- Controls the master dietary binder, meal waiver list, and suite cleaning schedules
- Other duties as assigned to support operational requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 2(two) years experience with restaurant or home-cooking
Strong background in food services in a residential care setting or hotel - Leadership experience in food services is required
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with peers, residents, visitors, and operational partners
- Superior organizational skills with the ability to handle fast paced environment
- Comprehensive food services and housekeeping/laundry knowledge, including focus on quality, production, sanitation, and presentation
- OH&S knowledge
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and problem solve
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Administrative duties knowledge
